Frequently Asked Questions

How can I get in touch with you?

E-mail is perhaps the best way to contact me initially, but I ask that potential clients include a contact phone number so that we can discuss your specific photographic needs directly.  I believe that this personalized communication is the only way to effectively provide my clients with the results they are looking for.

What is your background?

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Archaeology from the University of Calgary and a Photography Certificate from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.  I’ve been operating Voyager Photography since 2006.

Photography and Archaeology?

I realized early on that excellent photography is essential to the discipline of archaeology.  Creating an impeccable record of the evidence gathered during a dig, and in the laboratory is as essential to the archaeologist as it is to the criminalist.  To that end, I have developed techniques to make outstanding photographs of objects as well as building interiors and exteriors with available light as well as portable light sources.

What do you photograph?

My primary focus is on architecture, object, still-life and macro photography.  I love photographing structures, both old and new, home interiors and exteriors.  I have a passion for antiquities, so I take great pleasure in photographing old objects such as musical instruments, furniture, sports equipment, and coins.  I’m also fascinated by microscopic subjects like plants and insects.

Do you do all your own Photography?

Absolutely.  I personally photograph all of my own contracts so that I can guarantee the quality of my work.

Do you have a studio?

I have a small studio space set up primarily for controlled still-life and product photography.  I pride myself on being ultra portable, allowing me to meet my clients anywhere they may need me, making the best use of available lighting and mobile light sources as possible.  My clients are generally very busy people; entrepreneurs who provide innovative products and services and they appreciate the expediency of my being able to come to them.
